
California-based Teem Photonics recently unveiled a faster, colder version of its passively Q-Switched PicoSpark short-pulse laser family. Intended for micromachining and precision marking, the PicoSpark is said to have a 25 percent higher repetition rate and 25 percent shorter pulse compared to previous versions.

Now offered with 50 kHz repetition rate, and down to 400 ps pulse duration—at 1064nm or 532nm—the PicoSpark laser is capable of peak power in excess of 200 kW, according to Teem Photonics. The latest product offering from the company includes:
