Other Great Strides in 2009:


As the leaders in passively Q-switched microchip lasers, we have made great strides in 2008 and are looking forward, even in these challenging times, to making greater progress in 2009.  Please come by our booth, so we can share with you our news. More important, we want to know what you need and how we can be of service to you.

Some of our recent highlights are as follows:

  • Introduction of Picospark™, our line of amplified PQS lasers, with ultrashort picosecond pulses that reach peak powers of hundreds of kilowatts and average powers in the multiWatts. 7W versions are available at 1064nm and 4W at 532nm.



  • Release of FiberChip, which provides high peak powers and high repetition rates even into the UV, from a package that enables placement of the laser beam in compact locations.  FiberChip not only exceeds the performance of our highly popular PowerChip lasers, generating peak powers as high as 275kW at 1064nm as well as 20uJ pulses at 3kHz at 355nm, but also emits the beam from a head that is just one-eighth the volume of the PowerChip.
  • Increased performance from our highly compact microchip lasers, with powers now reaching 400mW at 1064nm and repetition rates reaching 40kHz at 266nm.
  • Frequency capabilities never previously provided from a PQS laser:  fixing repetition rates down to 10Hz; triggering instantaneously from 500µs to 100ms; adjusting average power values to as low as 25% of the laser’s free-running average power level.

We are also proud to announce that Teem has successfully completed a new round of financing.  The achievements we have made position us for significant growth not just in our traditional markets, but also in several new applications, from medical to analytical to industrial.  We are using this capital to complete industrialization and bring our new products to market.

Our theme for this year’s show is “Clean & Green:  Picosecond Laser Pulses at Nanosecond Economics.”  The lasers we have developed during the past year are not only efficient, but also, in material processing applications, process cleanly, minimizing heat affected zones (HAZ) on work pieces.  Moreover, we are particularly excited about our new PicoSpark™ 532nm green amplified picosecond laser, which has a variety of applications that enable a cleaner environment.  As the theme suggests, PicoSpark™, as well as our other lasers, emit picosecond pulses, but have a cost of ownership no different from nanosecond lasers.
